Mental Golf Lesson - Talk a Good Golf Game
Talk a good Golf Game
When I say talk to yourself I dont mean just rambling.
I want you to use this mental golf instruction and talk to yourself when you are faced with a tricky shot. A lot of leading mental teachers say that if you want to achieve something you must visualise the outcome.
This is definately a strong method of achieving an objective, but an even stronger way to do this is TELL YOURSELF exactly the shot you are going to play.
To make this really effective you should pick a shot which you have seen one of the top pros play and base your shot on this.
Say to yourself “I am Ernie Els and I am playing this bunker shot exactly the way he played it when winning the Open” “I remember it was a long simple golf swing with a full follow through”
Use this technique, and what you tell yourself will more often than not be the result you achieve.
To test this out you should take 10 balls and select a shot you have seen one of the top pros produce.
For the first 5 just hit the ball in your normal way. Then for the second 5 use the “visualise and talk method”
I think you will find that your mental golf conditioning and concentration level will be much higher on the second set of 5 because you know the shot works, you have seen it done and you have the ability to copy it.
Have an open mind and give this a try.
Good luck with this and play better golf
I do hope you have enjoyed this series of golf lessons and instruction and even after these short tips I think your game would have already seen some improvement. If that’s the case then it might be time for a holiday.
I have had the pleasure of playing some great golf courses and I have written another article for you on the subject of a golf vacation where I have written about some of the courses i have played in various countries. You might want to try them yourself one day.
I hope you enjoy the site and please feel free to recommend the site to your fellow golf friends and come back soon because we will be adding new articles and information on a weekly basis.
