Mental Golf Lesson - Play your Favourite Record

Play your favourite record

Once you have got into the routine of keeping your own golf records you should not waste the work you have done, you should put them to good use on the course and use them to play better golf.

If you have a good golf record (lets say your drives) which are pretty consistent, you can turn this into a strong mental thought when you play.

If your records show you are good at driving then be bold and confident and use that to your advantage.

Talk to yourself, tell yourself, this is easy for me and for example “I am going to place it in the right half of the fairway”

If you have a bad record, lets say you miss a lot of short putts. Lets use this as a strong mental thought as well. Just because your record shows it to be a weaker part of your game does not mean we have to turn it into a negative thought.

Although this part of your game may be weak or you feel it is weak then you need to be strong.

If you have a four footer dont say to yourself “Oh no, a four footer, I always miss these” say to yourself “I am going to hit this at pace into the hole” “If I miss then at least I gave it a go and I can get the tap in”

You can turn any negative into a positive by changing your thought process.

Just think about each situation and turn it into a positive.

Enjoy the drill
