Mental Golf Lesson - Lazy Golfer
Don’t be a lazy golfer
When you are playing golf for fun. It is always normally the case that your playing partner will give you a “GIMME” if you have a short putt of two feet or less. This mental golf practice lesson aims to teach you a solid thought process
How many times have you been in the situation where your playing partner offers to give you the putt and you play the shot anyway and it misses.
How do you feel? I’ll tell you. You feel as though you have stolen a shot and it prays on your mind.
Don’t be a lazy golfer. Hole out every single short putt. This is not meant to sound stubborn.
The reason you hole out everything is that when the situation arises in competition it will not be a shock to be asked to hole out a two foot putt to win, as you will most likely be asked to, particularly in matchplay.
To help you with this try the routine of golf putting instruction that professional golfer Colin Montgomerie uses.
Aim to hole 100 consecutive putts from 2-3 feet. This is not really difficult for the first 60 - 70 putts, but the closer you get to 100 the more the pressure mounts because if you miss one you need to go back to the beginning and start all over again.
This drill will test your patience and mental toughness along with the other mental golf tips in the series.
Enjoy your Golf lessons
All the Best
Richard
