Mental Golf Lesson - Face the Consequences

Face the Consequences

If you play bad golf then there is definately nobody else to blame apart from yourself. I think this Mental Golf Lesson will help.

Many golfers rant and rave at their driver when they hit a hook or a slice but this is just a case of bad technique.

A lot of golfers will blame the condition of the course or an unlucky lie.

Lot’s of things happen on the golf course which are not always fair and often do not reward a well struck shot.

It is not how you react to these in the few seconds that follow the shot, it is how you are thinking when you hit your next shot. If you are still thinking and griping about your bad luck and are not concentrating on your next shot then you are in trouble and need to improve your golf mental game.

Just forget it. We all get our share of bad breaks. If you can accept that then you are half way to developing your game to another level.

But how do you forget about it? Try using this mental golf lesson

If you hit a bad shot on a Par 3 tell yourself the hole is a par 4 and aim for that. If you hit a bad shot on a par 4 tell yourself it is a par 5

This takes away the bad thought and focuses you on achieving the end result.

OK, it will probably be a bogey, but better a bogey than a double or even a triple because your mood was wrong.

Have a great game if you’re playing this week

Get out and enjoy your golfing

Richard
